CLEVELAND, Ohio - Thayer Munford Jr., a former offensive lineman for Ohio State and the Las Vegas Raiders, has been released from the New England Patriots practice squad and signed to the Cleveland Browns, according to a Browns press release.

The Browns had available roster spots as a result of the injury sustained by tackle Dawand Jones, who has been placed on injured reserve.

Thayer, previously a Massillon Tiger, joined the NFL through the draft in 2022 as the 238th selection in the seventh round and was let go in August of 2025. He had signed a rookie contract valued at $3,757,061 and was approaching the final year of that contract prior to his release, as reported by Spotrac.

The specifics of his current contract have not been made public as he prepares to enter his 4th year in professional football.

He will join former Canton McKinley Bulldog and Bowling Green tight end Harold Fanin Jr. on the Browns offense.
