TOLEDO, Ohio - This young athlete is on a quest. Ali Beydoun has emerged as a standout player for the Fighting Irish. Although the team's overall record stands at 2-3 as they enter week six, they are confronted with a tough out-of-state schedule, with seven of the regular-season games taking place in Michigan, because of their membership in the Catholic High School League.

"We started off the season 0-3, but our team stuck together and now we've bounced back with two strong wins," said Beydoun to Ohsfbmedia.com.

The initial three games were played against the Division III powerhouse Walsh Jesuit, resulting in a narrow loss of 14-17. Subsequently, their out-of-state schedule commenced with a one-point defeat against the 2024 Division I state champion from Michigan, Detroit Cass Tech, followed by a loss to Detroit Central Catholic with a score of 14-27.

Beydoun has remained consistent for the Fighting Irish, guiding them to a two-game winning streak as they approach week six, facing two league rivals. They achieved a commendable 28-14 victory over Birmingham Brother Rice, followed by a solid win against Warren De La Salle, with a score of 35-6.

His performance in that game earned him the BCSN Player of the Week title, showcasing a stat line of 7 completions out of 11 attempts for 166 yards and one touchdown. Furthermore, he also rushed for 57 yards on seven carries, scoring another touchdown.

"I'm not big on stats, but I'm proud of my 68% completion rate. At the end of the day, team success comes first. If we're winning, that's what matters most," he stated.

He is attracting attention due to his 6'1, 190-pound stature and his 4.4 GPA in the class of 2027 from institutions such as Harvard and Michigan State as a game-day invite, according to his social media accounts.

Upcoming for Beydoun and the Fighting Irish is an away game against River Rouge in a week six matchup.

Note: Beydoun changed his number from his previous season from number 14 to number 1
