CINCINNATI, Ohio - Dee Alexander, a four-time OHSAA girls basketball state champion and three-time Ohio Ms. Basketball, has declared that she will be sidelined for part of her freshman college basketball season due to an injury she refers to as affecting her "lower extremity," as stated in her announcement on Instagram.

Below is her public statement about her situation:

To My Bearcat Family

I want to take a moment to share some sad news with you all. Unfortunately, I've suffered an injury to my lower extremity that will keep me sidelined for the first half of the season. This definitely wasn't part of the plan, and it's tough knowing I won't be out there competing alongside my team right away.

That said, I'm fully committed to my recovery and doing everything I can to come back stronger than ever. I'm grateful for the incredible support from my teammates, coaches, trainers, and, of course, the encouragement I know all of you will pour into me.

I'll be back in the second half of the season, ready to give everything I've got for this team and for Bearcat Nation. The grind doesn't stop; it just changes for a bit.

Thank you for believing in me. I'll see you soon.

Ohsfbmedia will remain informed about any updates throughout this process as we extend our wishes for Dee's swift recovery.
