OHIO - In the fall of 2026, six schools will join a newly formed league.

As stated in various press releases, the following school districts will be joining: Warrensville Heights, Maple Heights, South Euclid-Lynhurst, Bedford, Garfield Heights, and the recently established Youngstown High School.

Youngstown High School is set to merge Youngstown East and Youngstown Chaney for the 2026-2027 academic year, and will participate solely in football and basketball within the newly established conference.

What some school officals are saying

"The United Athletic Conference represents stability, structure, and tradition," said Donald J. Jolly II, Warrensville Heights Superintendent.

"And it's just not about athletics. There will be conference awards, athletic awards, academic standards. So it's a good move for our students," said Joe Meranto, chair of the athletic committee and Youngstown school board member.

"We are excited to join the United Athletic Conference and to once again be part of an athletic community," said Dominik Kaple Superintendent of South Euclid-Lynhurst schools.
