Aviators head Coach Ted Ginn Jr. charged with DWI

TORRANT, Texas  — Just before the Columbus Aviators' week three match against the Dallas Renegades, their head coach, Ted Ginn Jr., was arrested and later released on a charge of "Driving While Intoxicated."

As per the arrest records, Theodore Ginn (name as listed on the report) was taken into custody at the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office jail but arrested by the Euless Police Department on Saturday morning, facing a misdemeanor charge for driving while intoxicated.

Ginn was stopped at 12:58 a.m. for a traffic violation at 100 West Euless Boulevard, and an officer conducted a DWI investigation. After that investigation, he was arrested.

The UFL President and CEO, Russ Brandon, released a statement regarding the situation:

"We are aware of an incident involving Head Coach Ted Ginn Jr. over the weekend," said Russ Brandon. "Offensive Coordinator Todd Haley will handle head coaching duties for Sunday's game."

There was no court date available as of press time.
