Texas running back Keontae "Ke" Hollis Jr. transfers to Akron Hoban

AKRON, Ohio -- The Hoban Knights are strengthening their running back and linebacker spots as Keonte "Ke" Hollis Jr. makes the move from L.V. Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas, to the "Rubber Capital of the World," as announced on social media and the Akron Beacon Journal.

Hollis Jr. is a running back and linebacker from the class of '29 who is expected to make a significant impact in the Hoban lineup. This comes after Brayton Feister's transfer to the Massillon Tigers and Jance Henry's move to Moon Area High School in Pennsylvania, who was ruled ineligible by the WPIAL for the upcoming season.

He will still need to prove his worth, as returning players Kahlil Diming and Jaiden Daniels will assume the leadership positions.

Last season, Hollis rushed the ball 64 times, gaining 728 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns; he also caught passes for 87 yards.

His father, Keontae Hollis Sr., who played at nearby Akron University, is excited to have him with him and going to Hoban not only for football but academics also. "My son wanted to move to Ohio to be with his dad and two younger siblings," said Hollis Sr. "I heard Hoban was a good school academically as well as top-tier athletics. So I chose them, "Let's Go Knights!"
