HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Jamier Brown, a high-profile wide receiver, has returned to his home school district to enroll at Wayne High School after being spotted in practice, according to Steven Wright of the Dayton Daily News.
He transferred to Big Walnut High School in January 2026.
Brown made headlines when he challenged the OHSAA ban on high school student-athletes profiting from their name, image, and likeness (NIL). His lawsuit, filed on behalf of his mother, argued that the rule suppressed economic liberties and caused him to miss out on over $100,000 in potential endorsement and promotional revenue.
According to court documents, a judge issued a temporary restraining order nullifying the OHSAA's NIL ban, and as a result, the OHSAA member schools held an emergency vote to approve a new bylaw allowing NIL opportunities, leading to the dismissal of the lawsuit in December 2025.
