AKRON, Ohio -- Hoban is pleased to announce Tanner Ross as the new assistant director of athletics. Ross comes to Hoban after spending last school year as the assistant principal for student life at Lake Catholic High School in Mentor, according to the school press release.
“I was drawn to Hoban because of its excellence in both academics and athletics,” Ross said. “I am most excited to attend athletic events, meet all the student-athletes and get to know them and their families. I look forward to seeing the student-athletes thrive in high school athletics and beyond.”
A North Canton Hoover High School graduate, Ross went on to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sport administration from Kent State University. He also worked at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School from 2022 to 2025, where he began as an intern, then served as a graduate assistant, before becoming the athletic and transportation coordinator.
Ross and his wife Hallie reside in North Canton with their newborn son Beckham, who was born on June 7.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tanner as the newest member of the Hoban athletic office,” Director of Athletics Matt Bing said. “His experience, professionalism and enthusiasm make him an outstanding addition to our team. I am confident that Tanner will have a positive impact on our coaches, staff and student-athletes while helping us continue to elevate our athletic programs.”
