Glenville players learn their fate after Dick's Sporting Goods incident

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The 11 players involved in Dick's Sporting Goods' incident will be suspended from school, although the exact extent of the suspension was not noted, and they will receive a 2-game suspension from football, according to the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.

CMSD Statement: "CMSD is cooperating with authorities in the Columbus area regarding the incident that occurred on August 27, 2026," stated the district. "In accordance with FERPA and student privacy laws, the District will not comment about individual students. Due to the fact that 11 members of the Glenville High School football team left supervision during the trip, those students will face disciplinary consequences." Franklin County Prosecutor's Office filed misdemeanor theft charges against nine youths from the team. Court dates will be set in the coming weeks, according to the prosecutor's office. The two 18-year-olds will be charged as adults, with no further comments.
