Massillon set to host the exciting 'Battle of Ohio' Flag Football State Championship

MASSILLON, Ohio--The stage is set for the 'Battle of Ohio' Girls Flag Football State Championship at Massillon Paul Brown Tiger Stadium on Sunday, May 18.

Eight teams qualified from the Browns and Bengals Divisions, with Willoughby South and Cincinnati Mount Notre Dame both earning #1 seeds for winning their respective tournaments held at Huntington Bank Stadium and Paycor Stadium.

The other six teams that qualified for the tournament will be:

Cleveland Teams

  • Ashtabula Edgewood Warriors
  • Berkshire Badgers
  • Massillon Tigers 
Cincinnati Teams

  • Shroder Jaguars 
  • Seton Saints 
  • Badin Rams 
"It's great that we are growing the game. We're getting girls to learn and understand the basics of football," said Taylor Conklin Bengals Director of Community Engagement.

Girls High School Flag Football is emerging as a very popular sport with multiple state associations adopting it as a sanctioned sport creating a pathway to the OHSAA, who which supports but does not sanction it.
