RAVENNA, Ohio--According to Portage Sports, the girls' basketball program is set to welcome a new leader, DaVante McKinney, who has been appointed as the next head coach.
McKinney has dedicated the past several seasons to working under Marlon Jones, who leads the boys' program.
He assumes responsibility for the program from Courtney O'Donnell, who was appointed in 2022. She was also a graduate and played for the Ravens.
Ravenna plays out of the Metro Atlantic Conference.
As of press time, McKinney's hire is pending board approval with a special board meeting scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. at the BOE Office.
The upcoming regular meeting of the board of education is scheduled for Monday, July 21, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., to be held at Ravenna High School.
