DUBLIN, Ohio--Kirk Barton, a former offensive lineman for Perry High School in Massillon and Ohio State, has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide following a crash that resulted in the death of 24-year-old Ethan Wence Perry.
According to Fox 28 in Columbus, Barton was suspected of driving a Ford F150 Raptor truck at an excessive speed on U.S. 33/Ohio 161 in the eastbound lane when he struck a Lexus on West Bridge Street, just west of Franklin Street.

Perry was traveling east on West Bridge Street when he tragically lost his life at the scene of the crash, according to Dublin Police.
Dublin detectives subsequently stated that Barton acknowledged consuming alcoholic drinks that evening; however, they will await the return of toxicology reports to ascertain whether and to what extent it is reflected in his BAC.

Barton was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and subsequently released into police custody. He was then transported to Franklin County Jail without bond, with a court appearance scheduled for June 23, according to court records from Franklin County Jail.
He played three seasons for the Ohio State Buckeyes before being drafted in the 7th round with the 247th pick by the Chicago Bears in the NFL Draft.
