BROOK PARK, Ohio - The City of Brook Park is set to receive a Hall of Fame.
In a press release, the National High School Football Hall of Fame has announced a relocation of its operations. The initial proposed plan was to have a brick-and-mortar facility in downtown Canton, as announced in January 2025, located at a 20,000 square foot facility along the 300 block of Second Street Northwest.
A "letter of intent" was sent to the city of Brook Park based on the fact that it has strong backing for high school football and the luxury of having a standalone building and not in the shadow of an already existing institution in this sports and technology city.
Brook Park is known for its sense of community and its connection to aerospace through the NASA Glenn Research Center and its foundation of a working-class suburb of Cleveland.
Currently, there is increased media attention regarding the proposal to relocate the new Cleveland Browns' domed stadium to Brook Park, which is anticipated to be finished by 2029. The Haslem Group has officially acquired a 176-acre parcel in Brook Park, according to Cuyahoga County records.
"This move isn't about geography, it's about building something new, something bold, and something that stands entirely on its own," said Lamont "Showboat" Robinson, Founder of the NHSFHOF.
Lamont "Showboat" Robinson founded the National High School Football HOF in 2010, which has honored more than 100 inductees.
The Mayor of Brook Park shared his enthusiasm during a press conference at City Hall held at 4:30, stating, "We are excited. We are thrilled. We are honored," said Edward Orcutt.
Also note that there is no budget and exact location of the National High School Football HOF as of press time.
The National High School Football HOF ambassador Bernie Kosar was also present and did speak during the press conference.
