CINCINNATI, Ohio - An Ohio playoff game is moving to Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, the Division I Region 4 game between Cincinnati Elder and Cincinnati St. Xavier, according to WCPO News 9 Cincinnati.
The game was initially planned to take place at Dwir Field, located in Tri-Health/Beacon Stadium (Mason High School), which has a seating capacity of 7,000. However, due to its highly anticipated interest, the venue was changed.
"This will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for so many of the young men who take the field Friday night," said Denise Driehaus, the Hamilton County Commission President.
Additionally, this will be the first time Paycor Stadium will host a high school football game since 2018, when Cincinnati St. Xavier defeated Lakota West 34-0.
Ticket availability was expanded to 20,000, adding, all tickets will be general admission.
Ticket sales will still be conducted through ohsaa.org/tickets.
