SOLON, Ohio - The Comets are set to welcome new leadership within their athletic department, having announced the appointment of Antonio Alexander Hall as the head football coach and Athletic Director, according to the press release from the school district.
Hall comes with an impressive background to offer the Solon community; he was head coach at Canton McKinley High School (2022-2024 - Interim 2021), where he led the team for four seasons, achieving a 31-20 record and reaching the playoffs every year.
He also made stops at Canton GlenOak (Assistant coach) and Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas (Assistant Athletic Director and Defensive Coordinator).
His playing experience is also extensive, having played at Canton McKinley High School, where he was a member and starter of the 1997 state title team. Then, he would commit to the University of Kentucky, where he played offensive lineman for four years and started in 45 consecutive games.
Hall played some in the NFL (Indianapolis Colts) and most of his professional career in the Canadian League, playing for multiple teams from 2005 to 2010.
"We are incredibly fortunate to have someone of his caliber join the Comet community," said Solon Superintendent Fred Bolden. "This is a transformative moment for Comet athletics."
His new position will begin in July 2027 and coincide with the retirement of the current Athletic Director, Jim McQuaide.
