Andre Griffin returns to coach Shaker Heights football

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio - According to a press release from the Shaker Heights City School District BOE, Andre Griffin has been approved to be the next head football coach.

He is a 1997 graduate of the school who went on to play and graduate from the Ohio State University.

Griffin brings over 20 years of coaching experience on the high school and collegiate levels, most recently serving as the head football coach at Notre Dame Cathedral Latin for two seasons, posting a 13-10 record and making the playoffs both seasons.

"Thank you to the Athletic Director, Mike Babinec, Principal Isaiah Wyatt, Middle School Athletics Manager Mike Summers, and the entire hiring committee for the in-depth search for the Head Coach at Shaker Heights," said Griffin. "As an alum of Shaker Heights High School, I always believed that the city of Shaker Heights shaped who I am today. For the current and future student-athletes, I want them to have that same feeling and experience amongst all that Shaker has to offer. To the alumni and community, this is a unique opportunity to pull the community together and build on the Raider pride. I'm ready to go to work. I'm home!"

Griffin takes over the program after Alex Nicholson stepped down this past season.
