The schedule for the OHSBCA 28.5 Ohio Classic is confirmed for 2027

SUNBURY, Ohio - The Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association has revealed the schedule for the 2nd annual 28.5 Ohio Classic, which will take place entirely at Big Walnut High School on January 30, 2027.

This past January, the very first event aimed at promoting girls' basketball, women coaches, and women referees was a great success.

The new teams added in the 2027 schedule are Orrville, Delaware Hayes, Wynford, Delta, Fairview, Shelby, Archbishop Alter, and Strongsville.

Statement from the OHSBCA Director of the 28.5 Ohio Classic, Tracy White (Versailles):

"The 2026 event was a lot of fun with a lot of really good basketball. We couldn't be more proud of how the first 28.5 Ohio Classic came together," said Tracy White. "The level of competition, the energy in the gym, and the overall atmosphere made it something truly special."

Events like this enhances exposure of female athletes who are truly making strides in the sports world. "We're excited to build on that momentum in 2027 and hope to continue growing the event into something that not only showcases great basketball, but also inspires the next generation of women in the sport," she elaborated.
