The native of Canton, Ohio, graduated from Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in 2022, having led his team to consecutive state championships in the previous two years.
Following his impressive time at STVM, he committed to the University of Illinois. There, he played in 33 games, starting in seven of them, and averaged 3.7 points along with 2.1 rebounds per game during his freshman year. Later on, he chose to redshirt his sophomore year to further develop his skills.
