COLUMBIA, SC -- Former Buckeye running back Sam Dixon, formally Sam Williams-Dixon, has been arrested on multiple charges and suspended from the University of South Carolina football team, according to the Greenville News.
According to Richland County jail records, Dixon is facing charges of breaking into a motor vehicle, three charges of criminal conspiracy, and one charge of grand larceny between $2,000-$10,000. He was released on bond with a pending court hearing on Aug 28.
His brother, Elijah Williams-Dixon, was also arrested with the same charges.
He is a redshirt sophomore who joined the Gamecocks in January of 2026 after a transfer from Ohio State University.
"We are aware of the situation, and per athletic department policy, he is suspended indefinitely," said a spokesman from the South Carolina athletic department.
Dixon played high school football at West Holmes High School in Millersburg, Ohio, for three seasons before transferring to Pickerington North in Columbus, Ohio, for his senior year.
He was a three-star recruit and played two seasons at Ohio State, totaling 10 carries for 62 yards before transferring to South Carolina.
