Former NFL star Le'Veon Bell faces warrant in Michigan, arrested in Ohio

STARK COUNTY, Ohio - A former NFL player is about to be extradited to Michigan after being arrested on a warrant in Stark County, Ohio.

Court documents indicate that Le'Veon Bell's warrant was issued by the state of Michigan for failure to fulfill child support obligations. The child support exceeds $50,000.

Bell's attorney, Thomas Shaffer, says his client is struggling to make child support payments because he's no longer on a current NFL salary, according to Football Forever. 

The child in question lives in Michigan, which is why the Michigan Attorney General has the case and had a warrant out for Bell's arrest. 

Bell currently lives in California.

Earlier this year, Bell reportedly used his entire $50.000 NFL pension to pay his child support, and intends to explain his predicament to the judge, according to his attorney. 

The details did not clarify who the plaintiff was in the case since he is currently being held at the Stark County Jail on a courtesy hold until authorities from Michigan arrive to take him.

Bell was apprehended following an autograph signing event at Belden Village Mall, situated in Jackson Township, a suburb of Massillon, Ohio.
