BRADFORD COUNTY, PA -- Julian Fleming, a former wide receiver for Ohio State, has been sentenced to serve between 9 to 23 months in a Pennsylvania prison due to his involvement in an ATV accident that resulted in the death of his girlfriend at the time, Alyssa Boyd.

According to Bradford County court records, he pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and driving under the influence. Six months of probation were also stipulated in the plea agreement once his jail time had expired. The plea agreement was reached on April 30, 2026.
What Happened?
On May 24 2025, Fleming, accompanied by his girlfriend (Boyd) was driving an ATV on Painter Lick Drive with Boyd as a passenger in Columbia Township. The vehicle struck a deer, and both were thrown from the ATV, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Boyd died from multiple traumatic injuries as a result of the accident, according to an autopsy report. Neither was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and Fleming's blood alcohol level was measured at 0.118%.

Initially, he faced more severe charges connected to his state of intoxication and his responsibility for controlling the vehicle during the accident.
"This was an extremely unfortunate case," said Bradford County District Attorney Richard Wilson in a press release. While we were confident that we could prove Crushshon-Fleming committed a DUI offense, proving the connection between that and the death of the victim would be difficult."
Fleming played college football for Ohio State from 2020 to 2023 before entering the transfer portal and landing at his home state team, the Penn State Nittany Lions, playing in 16 games, catching 14 passes for 176 yards and one touchdown. He was undrafted and went unsigned by the NFL.
