CLEVELAND, Ohio -- As fight night approaches on Saturday, July 4th, fighters gathered two days earlier during fight week for a press conference to discuss their upcoming matches, hosted by Chris Mannix.
Main Event: Abdullah Mason vs. Albert Bell
Abdullah Mason and Albert Bell will fight in a 10-round WBO Lightweight Championship title fight. Both fighters were not fazed by the late replacement factor surrounding this fight. "I got the call, there were a number of names that couldn't make the fight, and Albert Bell was the only one on the radar at the time," said Mason.
Bell had to scratch his previously booked fight against Andy Cruz in an IBF title contender eliminator match on July 18. "Really, I was just focused on myself getting in tip-top shape as best as I can, and I was prepared for July 18th; I just had to change a few things. Boxing is about adjustments, so I know I'm going to have to make some adjustments first round, second round, so on and so forth," said Bell.
Both fighters have history and were excited about an all-Ohio fight. "We're just ready to get it on," elaborated Mason.
Bruce "Shu Shu" Carrington vs. Rene Palacios
In the co-main event, another championship bout will feature Bruce "Shu Shu" Carrington, the current WBC Featherweight World Champion, facing off against Rene Palacios. There was respect from both fighters: "I'm just super looking forward to this Saturday. Rene Palacios, he's a good fighter," said Carrington.

Palacios is a Mexican fighter who remains undefeated, holding a record of 19 wins, 0 losses, and 1 draw, with 10 of those victories coming by way of knockout. "I'm feeling happy, enthused because the day has come where I'm fighting for a world title," said Palacios.
Delante "Tiger" Johnson vs. Christopher "Machine Gun" Guerrero
Adding to an already delightful card, undefeated Cleveland native and U. S. Olympian Tiger Johnson will face unbeaten Canadian welterweight Christopher Guerrero (16-0, 9 KOs). "I feel great, I feel amazing," said Guerrero. Host Chris Mannix asked Guerrero what are the must that you have to do? "Stay confident and block all the noise out," he replied.

For Tiger, he will have the hometown crowd behind him. "I feel good; this is a dream come true. Outside of my Olympic dream, I always wanted to fight in Cleveland in front of my friends and family," said Johnson.
Tigers' last fight was back in November of 2025 against Nickalaus Fiaz, where he was crowned the WBO-NABO Welterweight champion. "Everybody was sleeping on me, so I had to sleep him," said Johnson.
Deric "Scooter" Davis vs. Carlos Ramos
In another exciting matchup in the lightweight division where the the undefeated Deric "Scooter" Davis will fight the more experienced fighter, Carlos Ramos, who has 23 professional fights to his record according to BoxRec.
"I'm very concentrated and very prepared for this fight. We've had great sparring, we've had a great camp, and I'm ready to walk away with the victory on July 4th," said Ramos. "Experience will give me a great advantage."

Davis also felt like he had a great camp for this fight. "I had a nice long camp," said Davis. With him having the least experience, he still feels he will be a formidable opponent. " I have multiple different things in my bag. I can box, I can bang, I can do my ring generalship, IQ, I listen to my trainers, I can do anything in the ring."

Abdurrahman Mason will fight Alavro Huizar Cabral, and Ibrahim Mason will go against Erik Hanley to finish off a spectacular night of boxing. "We've been working for something like this for a while, and we decided to put on a show for Cleveland," said Ibrahim Mason.
Bob Arum, the legendary figure of Top Rank, was present at the start of the press conference and expressed his enthusiasm for hosting this boxing event in the area for the first time in twenty years. "The reason why we did it, I know why we did it, we're showcasing fighters from this area. I hope people have a rooting interest, in this case, they do because tickets have been selling tremendously for this show," said Arum.
The preparations are complete, the press conference has concluded, and the focus now shifts to the official weigh-ins, which are set to occur on Friday, July 3, at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown, starting at 1:00 p.m.
