NORTH CANTON, Ohio -- Walsh University will add another quarterback to the roster as ex-Alliance standout Brendan Zurbrugg will play for the Cavaliers.

Zurbrugg comes from Utah, where he did not play a single game for the Utes. Before that, he attended Oklahoma, where he spent two years and did not appear in a game, and has three years of eligibility remaining.
He departed Utah in early December of 2025 after announcing it on "X," formerly Twitter.

He comes to Walsh to join Hayden Wickard, a redshirt junior from Elmwood High School; Trey Bell, a freshman from Hudson; and Sophomore Stevie Diamond from Akron Buchtel, according to the Walsh University Athletics website.
The team lost quarterback Dalys Jett as a result of an off-the-field incident that occurred during the offseason.
In the 2025 season, Walsh University Football had an overall record of 6 wins and 5 losses, with a conference record of 4 wins and 5 losses in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, or the G-MAC.
