Delphos St. John's head football coach and athletic director arrested

DELPHOS, Ohio — Delphos St. John's head football coach Todd Schulte was arrested on an alleged domestic violence charge, according to the Van Wert County Sheriff's Office. 

Schulte has many responsibilities in the school system. Besides being the head football coach, he also works as athletic director and serves as dean of students for the junior high and middle school.

According to a letter sent to the community, "Schulte has stepped away from his responsibilities," said Lee and Nathan Stant, the head of the school. "Out of respect for the privacy of those involved, we are not able to provide additional details at this time." 

He was arrested on Tuesday and booked into the Van Wert County Jail on what looks to be one count of domestic violence. Details of the charge were not readily available, as there was no record at the Municipal Court level as of press time.

Aaron Dubow will serve as interim athletic director, Dan Metzger as interim head coach, and Adam Lee as interim dean of students.
