FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - Browns rookie running back and former Ohio State standout Quinshon Judkins will not face any charges related to his battery arrest in July.
The arrest stems from his involvement with his partner at the time during a birthday celebration excursion on or about July 7, which she asserts took a negative turn when Judkins found text messages from family members on her phone. However, the victim contended that the messages were not accurate, and Judkins allegedly struck the victim in the mouth and continued the assault inside their vehicle, as reported by the Fort Lauderdale police.
He was arrested on July 14, after a complaint was filed by the alleged victim.
Reason prosecutors declined to pursue charges
According to WSYX ABC 6, a Broward County assistant state attorney wrote in a memo that their reasoning not to prosecute Judkins was due to the delayed report by the victim, a lack of video evidence, and a lack of independent witnesses.
"Although the victim had photos showing injuries sustained, there were also videos in that same time frame where no injuries depicted in the photos could be explained by either account of the incident," the memo stated.
