ZOARVILLE, Ohio - Freshman football player Mayson White has sustained a severe injury following a collision during a football game on Friday night against Waynedale, resulting in his paralysis.

As reported by the Tuscarawas Valley Local School District, he sustained an injury following a tackle, resulting in a fracture of his C4 vertebra, which exerted pressure on his spinal cord. He underwent a surgical procedure at Akron Children's Hospital, and it has been stated that the operation went well.

Unfortunately, he remains paralyzed at this moment, possessing only limited movement in his right arm, but none in his hand or legs, according to his family.

"Mayson is a strong young man, and we are rooting for him. The TV community is a special place, and his family, and our district, thank you for your ongoing support to Mayson and his family in the days to come," said Superintendent Dr. Derek Varansky.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established by the family.
