NEW FRANKLIN, Ohio - An additional Stacy will be present on the sidelines for the Manchester football program in the upcoming season. Tom Stacy will be joining his son's coaching staff in an assistant capacity.
Stacy will be bringing 40 years of coaching to the program."After four decades of coaching experience spanning high school, Division I, and Division II collegiate football, including the development of All-Americans, Heisman watch-list quarterbacks, and current college and NFL coaches, he has chosen to invest in our program," said Kevin Stacy.
His most recent role has been the Assistant Football Coach - Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks coach at Ashland University, where he has spent the last 15 years.
Throughout his high school career, he has coached for several teams, but his time at Massillon stands out the most. He was there for three seasons, and his best year was in 2005 when he had an impressive record of 13-2, finishing as the state runner-up after losing to Cincinnati St. Xavier.
He also made high school stops at Green (Uniontown), Shelby (head coach), Galion, and Lancaster to round out his high school resume.
In his collegiate coaching career, he was an assistant to Lee Owens (also a former Massillon coach) at the University of Akron.
Kevin Stacy assumed the role of head coach for Manchester in January 2023. During his tenure, he has achieved a record of 20 wins and 15 losses, with the 2024 and 2025 seasons proving to be quite successful following a challenging start of 1-9 in his inaugural year.
"I was fortunate to serve as an assistant on his staff for six years. Now, having him serve alongside me is both humbling and meaningful," elaborated Stacy.
