COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio High School Athletic Association has announced the new divisional breakdowns for the upcoming winter sports tournaments. Wrestling divisional breakdowns will be announced in the fall.

In May, schools were given the opportunity to move up to Division I. The divisional breakdowns linked below reflect any schools that opted up to Division I in that sport.

The 2026-27 school year will be the first of a new two-year enrollment cycle using data provided by the Ohio Department of Education. Girls and boys basketball also go through the OHSAA competitive balance process. More about the OHSAA’s competitive balance process is available at: https://www.ohsaa.org/School-Resources/Competitive-Balance-Resource-Center

Note that the winter sports of ice hockey, girls gymnastics, and girls wrestling have one division.
