DUBLIN, Ohio--According to several news outlets, Ohio State women's head basketball coach Kevin McGuff was charged with an OVI (operating a motor vehicle while impaired) after failing a field sobriety test during a May 6 stop at his residence.
The call came from a bystander who thought he was erratically driving.
McGuff's car was slightly parked in the driveway and partially on his lawn as he was sitting behind the wheel, according to Dublin police in their report.
Upon approaching McGuff, an officer can be heard asking if he had anything to drink, and he stated, "No." He was then asked where he was by an additional officer, to which he replied he was "coming from a restaurant." After failing to open the door or roll down the window.

After being given a field sobriety test and failing all of them, he was placed into custody but refused consent to a breathalyzer test. He was then released into his wife's custody approximately an hour later.
Ohio State has had his services since 2013, making the NCAA tournament eight times and winning four Big Ten titles in 12 seasons.
McGuff had a scheduled court date on May 13 in Dublin Mayor's Court (which he did not physically attend), and his attorney, Richard Piatt, entered a not guilty plea.
"Please understand that Kevin McGuff is presumed innocent and, like everyone else charged with an offense, deserves to have this case resolved on the merits and the facts that actually occurred," said Piatt in a statement to the Associated Press.
There is no further information on his next court appearance, with Ohio State being aware of the incident.
