YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Former player for the New England Patriots and Massillon Tigers has landed a new coaching position at Youngstown State University.
Shawn Crable will be on Doug Phillips' staff. According to Crable, he will coach the outside linebackers and rush ends. Rush ends are traditionally known as defensive ends whose primary role is to rush the passer, often from a stand-up position on the strong side of the field.

He was subsequently selected by the New England Patriots during the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft, where he played for two seasons. He then excelled on the practice squad of the New York Jets before departing from the league to join the UFL, where he played for the Sacramento Mountain Lions. Following that, he transitioned to the Canadian Football League, representing the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
His coaching career spans on all levels, with his most recent position being a year at Canton McKinley High School under the leadership of then head coach Antonio Hall, making prior stops at Jackson and Massillon.
He has two sons who have also embrace the sport: Jayvian Crable, who is currently playing at Ohio University, and Tayte Crable, who played at Archbishop Hoban High School and has committed to the Bulls of USF.
