CANTON, Ohio - On the final day of the OHSBCA Shot Clock Shootout, an additional ten teams would utilize the 35-second shot clock, which is not regulated in Ohio, presented by BigTime Sports.

Game 8

Hamilton Township 65  Canton Central Catholic 57   (Boys)

The game was extremely close during the first half, with several lead changes, and neither team was able to pull ahead by more than three points. By the end of the first quarter, Hamilton was ahead 16-13, and by the end of the second quarter, Central Catholic had taken the lead, leading 30-28.

Lucas King of Hamilton Township would score early and often with his aggressive style of play, which would push the Crusaders and prevent head coach Matt Creamer from winning his 501st coaching victory.

In the second half, Central would fall behind and never regain the lead. Jake Bowling would push the pace for the Crusaders, who finished with 18 points, but it was not enough.

Hamilton teammate Kaden Arn contributed further by scoring 12 points, effectively overcoming the Crusaders.

Central moves to 3-4 and will have a matchup with the fast-paced Bulldogs of Canton McKinley. Hamilton, who is out of Columbus, Ohio, will move to 5-4 and 3-2 in their conference.

Game 10

Canton McKinley 72  Warren Harding 50  (Boys)

The Bulldogs are capable of moving quickly up and down the court, playing at a fast tempo because they have a lot of talent and depth, and physicality, which is more than what the Raiders of Warren Harding could handle.

"Definitely an emphasis on the weight room," said Weatherspoon, when asked about his team's physical look.

Warren Harding would come to the Canton Memorial Field House on a four-game win streak behind the 6-foot-6 Myles Miller.

During the start of the game and down the stretch of the first quarter, it would seem Warren Harding would match McKinley's tempo and physicality as they would keep it close, only trailing by six after the period.

Also, the Bulldogs would get a shot clock violation at the 1:27 mark of the quarter as they would be able to get a shot off, but good defense by the Raiders.

As the second quarter went on, Warren Harding found themselves falling behind as McKinley took a 20-11 lead at 6:32 in the quarter. This is when the Anthony Chavers show kicked off; the versatile wingman hit a few 3-pointers, pushing them ahead by the 6:08 mark of the game, and they were leading 41-22.

"We go full speed everything, we don't like to play slow at all," said Chavers.

It was all but over as McKinley decided to put some reserves in with just over 4:00 left in the third quarter, after junior Jamar Keyes and Ed Webster contributed to the extended scoring.

With 4:01 left in the game and the lead extended to 24, McKinley never looked back.

"Its a challenge, as a competitor and being here at McKinley, we just a team full of competitors," said Keyes.

The win for the Bulldogs puts them at 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the Federal League as they will face Canton Central Catholic next.

In other games during the second day, not reported by Ohsfbmedia.com, the Rocky River boys and girls teams both played as the boys defeated Grand Valley 64-45. The girls lost to Olentangy Berlin 68-59.

Youngstown Ursuline boys win a high scoring game against Tallmadge 84-73.
